I am a technical specialist in the field of IT and infrastructure, and I'm currently working as an SDDC Consultant

Designing, implementing, migrating and administrating (virtual) server and network infrastructures is one of my passions. I get the most energy when I work for different customers in different virtual infrastructures. I am interested in all things around IT and I keep myself up-to-date with the latest news and evolutions.
I am specialized in designing, implementing, migrating and administrating a (virtual) server and network infrastructure especially with technologies from Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and Cisco.
I have experience in setting up back-up, monitoring, endpoint management and ITSM tooling with products from the Microsoft System Center Suite, IASO Backup and Restore, Veeam Backup and Replication, PRTG Network Monitor, Autotask Endpoint Management and TOPdesk.
I have followed an education MBO ICT Management level 4 at ROC Nijmegen. Currently I have a couple of Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) and Citrix (CCA-V) certifications. The last years I am especially focused on VMware technologies. My experience and certifications with VMware are VMware vSphere (VCP-DCV/VCAP-DCV Deploy/VCAP-DCV Design/VCIX-DCV), VMware vSAN (vSAN Specialist/HCI Master Specialist), VMware NSX-T (VCP-NV/VCAP-NV Design), VMware Cloud Foundation (Cloud Foundation Specialist), VMware Tanzu (vSphere with Tanzu Specialist) and VMware Carbon Black. Besides the technical skills and certifications I also work on my process skills and certifications. I currently hold the ITIL4 Foundation and PRINCE2 Foundation version 2017 certifications.
Besides a lot of technical expertise and skills I have a great ambition in learning stuff about IT processes and setting up IT processes together with other colleagues in a modern IT organization, designing IT processes to align them with the business, and setting up a good functioning IT management organization. Because I have all knowledge and skills of the ITIL framework for IT management and the PRINCE2 framework for project management I can be a valuable person in supporting the setup of this kind of processes.
I am working as a Technical Specialist at FONDO in Woerden, The Netherlands.

VMware Workspace ONE and Horizon are extensive solutions for mobility and managing digital workspaces in a safe and controlled environment where end-users get access to corporate applications and services. Fondo Solutions also delivers a skilled service desk which supports VMware Workspace ONE and Horizon.
As a SDDC consultant Marc was involved with several projects from a couple of health care and national governments organizations. Marc wrote the designs and executed the implementations from one or more Software-Defined Datacenter (SDDC) for those customers.
Design and implementation where based on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) in combination with the VMware products vSphere, vSAN en NSX-T. Some of these customers had a requirement for a container automation solution. Therefore Marc has implemented VMware Tanzu to serve their needs.
The environments consists of one or more SDDCs which are managed through a central management interface. This interface was delivered with the SDDC Manager component from VCF. The SDDCs consists of a management domain and one or more workload domains. NSX-T was deployed for micro-segmentation and vSAN was deployed as a software-defined storage (SDS) solution.

750 employees, one of world‘s largest Logistics Service Providers (LSP). Citrix 7.x upgrade.
Because of the outdated Citrix XenApp 6.5 Environment and the old IMA architecture, there was a need for a completely renewed shared desktop Environment. Marc was responsible for setting up a new XenApp shared desktop Environment based on Citrix XenApp 7.15 (LTSR) and Windows Server 2012 R2 as OS. Here, except for a single component (License Server), all Citrix components are redundant, including the StoreFront servers, Delivery Controllers, Workers (VDA), NetScaler Gateway and the Database servers (AlwaysOn). The migration to the new shared desktop Environment was realized and supervised by Marc.
750 employees, one of world‘s largest Logistics Service Providers (LSP). New internal PKI structure based on AD CS.
Because the current internal PKI structure consisted of only 1 CA that issued certificates for internal purposes, there was a need for a completely new PKI structure based on the two-tiered Microsoft best practice model. Marc has provided a new PKI structure with a new root CA and subordinate CA. Marc has replaced the certificates already issued by the old CA with new certificates issued by the new subordinate CA. Marc has carried out both the preparation of the plan and the supervision and implementation.
750 employees, one of world‘s largest Logistics Service Providers (LSP). Implementation new file server structure.
Due to the explosive growth of the customer through multiple acquisitions and the growth in the number of employees, it became necessary to redesign the file server structure. Marc has taken care of the transition to a completely new file server structure in which two new file servers have been implemented that ensure the redundancy and high availability of the data and the many dependencies of applications. The involved techniques used herein are DFS-N, DFS-R, Data Deduplication and File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) within two Windows Server 2012 R2 servers. During this project all UNC paths were also converted to the created DFS Namespace.
300 employees, a Logistics Service Provider (LSP) in the food industry. Exchange mail migration.
In connection with Microsoft's announcements that support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 will expire (EOL), the customer requested to perform a mail migration to a newer version of Exchange. Marc has performed the full e-mail migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 including the complete phasing out of Exchange 2007. In this mailbox approximately 270 mailboxes have been migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
300 employees, a Logistics Service Provider (LSP) in the food industry. Database migration Exact Globe, Exact eSynergy and Exact Event Manager.
Due to the expiration of support for the new Exact updates on SQL Server 2005, the customer asked to perform a database migration from Exact Globe, Exact eSynergy and Exact Event Manager to a new database server. The migration involved approximately 20 administrations from Exact Globe, an HRM database from Exact eSynergy and two databases from Exact Event Manager. These have all been migrated to a new database server equipped with Windows Server 2012 R2 and SQL Server 2014. Within this change in the IT Infrastructure of Den Hartogh, Marc performed the entire migration in collaboration with the client's Application Manager.
